Villa La Granada is named for the row of pomegranate trees [granadas] lining its walkway. The house is 3,764 sq. feet, and has three bedrooms. The master bedroom with its bathroom en suite is upstairs as is one guestroom. Also upstairs is the TV family sala with comfy furniture and a large smart TV with (optional) Shaw Direct. The mirador is also on the second floor and has two lounges, a table and chairs, and a large umbrella for shade. From there you can see the whole garden and the lake.
The downstairs contains a large living room with newly upholstered furniture in the Mexican style and a working gas fireplace. Past it is the bar area and the downstairs guestroom with its own en suite bathroom. In addition there is a powder room right by the bar. To the left as you enter is the large dining room with artisan made table and chairs that will comfortably seat 10. The kitchen is quite large and well laid out with most essentials provided, and a brand new high-end fridge and stove.
All the water at La Granada is potable. There is a completely newly refurbished water purification system that is serviced regularly. A pre-filter has been recently installed. You can drink the water with confidence. There is covered parking for two cars just inside the automatic gate.
The front porch overlooks the garden, and has equipale table and chairs and a sofa. It is comfortable and there is always shade. The garden itself is the pride and joy of La Granada. It is roughly half an acre and one of the larger in the village. It contains a variety of fruit trees including pomegranates, limes, oranges, avocado, mango, guava and papayas. There are numerous flowering trees as well as plants and ground flowers. Directly in front of the porch is a large patio with a fountain. To the left side of the porch as you face the garden is another patio that contains the hot tub. It will comfortably contain six adults, and is an excellent way to relax.
Villa La Granada is two blocks from Ajijic’s central plaza, and three to the malecon (lakeside walkway.) It is within walking distance of numerous fine restaurants as well as a number of more casual eateries. The Ajijic-Chapala carretara is one block away providing easy access to just about everything.
The rental fee includes the gardener three days a week, a maid three days a week, electricity, cable TV, Wi-Fi and landline telephone (which includes free calling to US and Canada). Shaw Direct, which includes all US and Canadian networks plus movies and sports, is optional at US$50 per month. The tenant only pays for propane (gas) and monthly water filters.
La Granada is a large luxurious property that is confortable and welcoming. Its styling is authentically Mexican while at the same time providing you with comfort and security.
